Minister of Agriculture, LE FOLL and Matthias FEKL, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, tourism promotion and abroad French , welcomed the opening of the Canadian market to beef from 19 countries of the European Union, including France, and the opening of the Brazilian market for french dairy. Regarding beef, French companies wishing well will be allowed to export it to Canada. Regarding dairy products, after a thorough audit in May 2014, the Brazilian health authority has publicly recognise the equivalence of the French health system. This paves the Brazilian market to new French dairy establishments wishing to export them, provided they have a permit issued by the Directorate General of Food. The latter is seen and given the responsibility to establish and update the list of French dairy establishments authorised to export to Brazil, without the need to appeal to new Brazilian inspections. These companies will therefore now be able to request to the Brazilian authorities the validation of labels of their products for export.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The two ministers emphasised that: "The continued engagement of the government to open new export markets is a priority for the French livestock support plan. With the mobilisation of a budget of EUR 10 million for the promotion of French beef, and the launching October 12, the export platform and the lifting of embargoes in Vietnam, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and South Africa, Canada and the opening of the Brazilian market for French dairy, agricultural sectors have decisive advantages to succeed internationally. " These decisions reflect the international recognition of the high level of safety of agricultural production and French food." Official Statement French Ministry of Agriculture
